Avalanche Summary

Friday's gusty storm built soft slabs that you can easily trigger on many slopes. These will break deeper on wind-drifted slopes, especially on near and above treeline terrain that faces north through east. Most avalanches will break around two feet deep, but on northerly terrain, one could break deeper into buried weak layers. Friday observers reported remote triggering and sympathetic released avalanches. We expect that to continue on Saturday with continued light snowfall. Look for safer options in less-steep wind-sheltered or wind-scoured terrain.
