Avalanche Summary

You could trigger an avalanche that breaks wide and near the ground on north and northeast-facing slopes at higher elevations. The most concerning areas have continuous snow cover and are just below ridgelines, in wind-drifted gullies or snow-filled concave slopes. Smooth, rounded pillows of snow identify wind-drifted areas; avoid these slopes if you see cracking or hear collapses.
