The snowpack is thin, and most slopes are safe from avalanches. You could trigger an avalanche on a wind-drifted terrain feature at high elevations, like the lee side of a ridgeline or inside walls of a gully or couloir. Consider moving to another slope if you feel hard, hollow snow, see shooting cracks, or hear collapsing as you travel.
