It will be possible to trigger shallow wind slabs at higher elevation lee slopes especially near the Cascade crest. Navigate around corniced slopes and features steeper than 35 degrees where you find wind deposited snow. At lower elevations, Tuesday's rain and mixed precipitation have created challenging travel conditions.

Modest snow has accumulated above around 5000', while rain and mixed precipitation fell below that elevation. Strong west winds were observed at nearby White Pass during the day Tuesday. Winds slabs will likely have formed at elevations above 5000' on lee slopes. Look for evidence of wind transported snow such as cornice formation, firm and textured snow, or pillow-like drifts. Cracking, collapsing, and whumphing sounds are also evidence of unstable snow. Where you see these signs, avoid lee slopes over 35 degrees. Navigate around cornices and steep start zones where wind deposited snow has accumulated. Below 5000' rain and mixed precipitation on Tuesday will have created challenging travel conditions. 

Expect shallow snow cover at low elevations and bare ground particularly on low south-facing slopes. Typical early season hazards can be expected with open creeks, stumps and rocks.
