The new snow of yesterday represents the main danger.

The sometimes strong wind will transport the new snow. In all aspects the wind slabs will increase in size substantially. The soft wind slabs are to be found in all aspects.

Snowpack Structure

The old snowpack will be unfavourable in particular on steep shady slopes. The fresh snow and the sometimes large wind slabs can be released easily or naturally in particular on steep shady slopes.
