Central Cascades

Any new snow that we get overnight should be light enough that we won't see a significant increase in the avalanche danger.  Remember that Low avalanche danger doesn't mean no avalanche danger.  Pay attention to changes in the depth of new snow as you move through terrain and change your aspect.

Any new snow that falls tonight will fall on a variety of old snow surfaces from today.  Many slopes that receive sunlight have a crust, and shadier North facing slopes are continuing to hold soft snow.  We haven't found any concerning weak layers within our snowpack (check out my snow profile from Tumalo Butte below).
