Highlights

Generally, the snowpack is stable and consist of melt forms. Be aware that you may trigger loose snow avalanches in steep slopes if the snow is very wet.

If the sun comes out, it may release some snow from steep sun-facing mountainsides, typically below cornices and cliffs.

Be cautious in north-facing terrain at high altitudes where small wind slabs may be present.

Keep a safe distance from cornices and glide cracks.

Avalanche problems

Tendency

The snowpack is mostly stable and consist of melt forms. Significant precipitation is expected, which will fall as snow at higher elevations. As the wind picks up in the evening, fresh slabs will form that may be easy to trigger. In lower-lying areas, rain will increase the likelihood of triggering wet loose snow avalanches when traveling in very steep terrain.
