Avalanche Activity

Light precipitation: The weather conditions will give rise to thorough wetting of the snowpack.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls, and in gullies and bowls. Individual wet and gliding avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

Snow cover is absent or patchy in many areas, especially on southern slopes. Due to the temperatures, the snowpack is steadily decreasing. The weather conditions will give rise to thorough wetting of the snowpack in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the snowpack on shady slopes.

Tendency

The weather will be clear. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good. Decrease in avalanche danger as the temperature drops.
