Gliding snow
- All elevations
Avalanche danger is low. On very steep grass-covered slopes, mostly small glide-snow avalanches can trigger naturally.
The snowpack was able to settle and consolidate somewhat due to higher temperatures and solar radiation. Particularly on shady slopes in the uppermost part of the snowpack there are weak layers evident which can easily be triggered. During the course of the day, superficially melt-freeze encrusted layers aer becoming moist on steep sunny slopes. The gliding snow activity has intensified somewhat over the last few days.
Tranquil mountain weather without perturbances from early until late. In the Rhine Valley there is a sea of fog, but the sky is cloudless. Hardly any wind, and not cold. At 2000m: 0 degrees. Light winds from variable directions at high altitudes.
Avalanche danger levels are not expected to change significantly.
