The hard wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads,. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. They are easy to recognise. Also transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are unfavourable. As a consequence of warming individual moist and wet avalanches are possible in the afternoon, but they will be mostly small, especially on extremely steep sunny slopes, and at the base of rock walls below approximately 3200 m.
The mostly small wind slabs have bonded quite well with the old snowpack in all aspects. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on very steep sunny slopes. The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day, in particular on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 3200 m. From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
Continuous warming. These conditions will foster a slight rise in the danger of moist avalanches as the day progresses in particular on very steep sunny slopes.
