Avalanche problems

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,500 m
  • New snow

    • Above 2,500 m

Avalanche Activity

Some fresh snow and the isolated winds slabs that are forming represent the main danger.

Over a wide area new snow is lying on an icy crust. Even in relatively flat terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls mostly small wind slabs formed.

Snowpack Structure

Wind slabs are lying mostly on the smooth surface of an old snowpack. Over a wide area from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

Tendency

Gradual increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the precipitation.
