    • Above 1,900 m

Avalanche Activity

Wet loose snow avalanches and moist slab avalanches are the main danger.

Above approximately 1900 m small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist avalanches are possible. These can be released, mostly by large loads or triggered naturally. Especially sunny slopes are unfavourable.

Snowpack Structure

Below approximately 1800 m the snowpack is wet all the way through. Above approximately 2100 m a lot of snow is lying. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust only at high altitudes and will already soften in the late morning. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northwest and northeast facing slopes.
