Avalanche Activity

Wind slabs above approximately 2300 m. Moist and wet avalanches are still possible.

The older wind slabs are mostly easy to recognise but to be assessed critically. Caution is to be exercised in particular adjacent to ridgelines above the tree line, as well as at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. As a consequence of warming wet and gliding avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and partly cloudy skies a crust formed on the surface during the last few days. This applies in particular below approximately 2300 m.
