As the precipitation becomes more intense small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized dry and wet avalanches are to be expected. The fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls can be released by a single winter sport participant. Over a wide area rain to intermediate altitudes. Gradual increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches as the snowfall level rises. Ski touring and other off-piste activities, including snowshoe hiking, call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.

Over a wide area over a wide area 15 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 2200 m. The moderate wind will transport the new snow and, in some cases, old snow as well. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded poorly with each other and the old snowpack. In particular at intermediate and high altitudes there is still a very large amount of snow.
