The conditions are favourable for backcountry touring. There is a danger of falling on the hard crust.

The weather will be clear. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night was good. The backcountry touring conditions are mostly favourable. As the temperature drops hardly any more moist and wet avalanches are to be expected. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

In some localities 2 to 5 cm of snow, but less in some localities, fell on Thursday above approximately 2000 m. The snowpack is hard and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust will soften during the day. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes as well as at low and intermediate altitudes. In particular at intermediate and high altitudes there is still a very large amount of snow.
