A generally clear night. In some localities a little new snow. Along the border with Switzerland and along the border with France: The more recent wind slabs can still be released in some cases above approximately 2400 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. As the temperature drops only isolated small and medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are possible below approximately 2700 m.

The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. Above approximately 2400 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. Below approximately 2000 m only a little snow is lying. Even in moderately steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust. Many starting zones have released the snow, in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation especially below approximately 2800 m. Towards its surface, the snowpack is weak in some cases and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a strong crust. The old snowpack will be generally well bonded.

The avalanche danger will persist.
