Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will be generally well bonded and stable. Fresh unstable windslab will be deposited in wind-sheltered areas, mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above around 950 metres. Accumulations are not expected to gain significant depth nor be extensive. Fragile cornices will start to build above these aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight winds will be very strong easing to moderate mainly South-South-Easterly, then during the day will be moderate South-Easterly veering South-South-Westerly. Showers are expected throughout the period, somewhat heavier during the day, initially falling as rain, or sleet at the highest levels, and then from midnight as snow above around 1000 metres and above 900 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It was a mainly dry day with the freezing level above the summits. Winds were strong South-South-Easterly. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally well bonded and stable, and is slowly thawing at all levels. Greatest remaining accumulations are on North to East aspects above 800 metres. Glide cracks continue to widen and the possibility of full-depth avalanches is present on some crag benches and select locations on steep mainly Eastern aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
