Low avalanche danger, favorable backcountry touring conditions
Avalanche danger in Styria is low. A slight daytime cycle of avalanche danger requires heed. In afternoon on sunny slopes, wet slides and glide-snow avalanches are possible.
Due to dropping temperatures the snowpack surface is regaining firmness at high altitude. The snowpack is hardened, often icy. At intermediate altitude the snow is wet and often rotten.
On Tuesday, enduring perfect conditions, unimpaired sunshine, excellent visibility. In exposed terrain, brisk SE winds. At 2000 m: +2 degrees. On Wednesday, sunny and yet a bit milder.
A slight daytime danger cycle is anticipated.
