Although the avalanche danger is currently LOW, pockets of Wind Slab may still be encountered.
Also, there is a significant sliding danger across the region at the moment.
South to South East winds may have shifted light density snow. Isolated pockets of Wind Slab could exist. These slabs are most likely to be found on North facing slopes above about 1700m. Be on the lookout for deposits of stiff snow and avoid them.
No avalanche activity reported over the past 48 hours. A widespread cycle of Loose Wet avalanches occurred last week.

A few cm's of fresh snow over the past 24 hours. Snow at upper elevations 12/8 (15 - 25cm) in the West and less further East. Rain to about 1850m on the 12/8. Melt/freeze crusts have been forming. The underlying pack is mostly well consolidated. Facets (weak, sugary forms) have been found in places. These pockets of questionable strength appear to be isolated and are most likely to exist on slopes facing East to South. You would be wise to do some investigation before committing to steep, shady terrain.
Sunday - partly cloudy with isolated showers possible. Light to moderate South East winds. Freezing level - 700m rising 1000m in the afternoon. Periods of poor visibility are likely.
A significant sliding danger exists at present. Icy crusts are widespread below about 1850m. These slick crusts may now be covered by a thin layer of fresh snow. Keep in mind that the underlying pack remains shallow especially, at lower elevations. Rocks and icy areas may be lurking below a thin cover of snow. Carrying ski crampons and/or an ice axe and crampons is recommended.
