Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh windslab will accumulate during the period on North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations will be found mainly in steep wind sheltered locations and will contain instabilities where they achieve depth. A light dusting of snow elsewhere will be shallow and inconsequential. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Light snow showers are expected from glen level upwards as the freezing level lowers. Winds will be strong Westerly veering to West-North-West later. The freezing level will gradually drop from summit level to around 200 metres overnight. Observed Weather Influences: Intermittent showers fell as rain at all levels. Winds were West-South-Westerly and of moderate strength. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snowpack is moist but stable and well bonded throughout. Greatest accumulations remain on steep North to East aspects above 900 metres. Any snow below this altitude is limited to sheltered stream beds and hollows. Outwith these areas the ground is mainly bare. The avalanche hazard is Low.
