Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack, which mainly exists in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries, will re-freeze becoming firm and icy in many areas. North-Easterly variable winds and light falls of new snow will form isolated areas of unstable windslab in wind sheltered areas such as gullies and around corrie headwalls. These accumulations are not expected to be deep or extensive but bonding will be poor to the underlying re-frozen old snow. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be a return to colder conditions with fresh occasionally strong variable East backing North-North-Easterly winds. The freezing level will lower to 300 metres overnight, rising to around 600 metres later. A light dusting of new snow is expected overnight with further light snow showers later in the day. Amounts of new snow are not expected to be significant. Observed Weather Influences: Dry, calm and milder conditions initially but becoming cooler and windier through the day. The freezing level remained above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The slow general thaw continues to affect the area giving good snowpack stability. Some sheltered areas above 1000 metres retain a firm snow surface. The avalanche hazard is Low.
