Regions: Little Yoho.

No ice to climb in Field, and shallow snow in the valley bottoms. XC skiing on the roads or trails is good, but there's only 28cm of snow at the end of the Yoho Valley Rd. - much less than we expected. Little Yoho needs some time, and a storm or two!

Weather Forecast

Light flurries expected for Thursday, with temperatures remaining cool between -8 and -15 and light west winds. This pattern will continue through the weekend, with possibly a bit more snow for Saturday.

Snowpack Summary

A comparatively stable snowpack exists for the end of November, although you need to get to treeline in order to safety ski through the forest. Once at treeline, the snowpack is solid and carries well. Total depth ranges from 70-100 cm, and there is one significant crust in the mid-pack that we are watching, but has not produced any avalanches.

Avalanche Summary

No new avalanches observed or reported today.
