High freezing levels and rain have significantly effected the snowpack at lower elevations with snow quickly dispersing below tree line. Above tree line ski travel remain supportive.

Weather Forecast

Temperatures are expected to cool overnight with freezing levels hovering around valley bottom. Precipitating is expected to turn to snow, accumulation vary significantly from trace amounts to over 20cm at higher elevations depending on what forecast you look at.

Snowpack Summary

Freezing levels ranged from 2300-3000m today, at lower elevations snowpack is quickly disappearing with warm temps and light rain. At tree line the snowpack is moist to ground, areas with more rain fall are expected to be isothermal. At higher elevations temps have remaind cool enough to keep the snowpack intact, light snowfall is bonding well.

Loose wet point release observed on the scree fan off Crowfoot Mountain above Bow Lake, sz 1.5.
