Snowpack Summary

Generally speaking, above 800m, the few centimetres of precipitation remained dry, whereas below 800m, precipitation fell in mixed form depending on the time of day. At lower altitudes, temperature had a more marked effect on the snowpack, as the first 5 to 10 cm were wet. In short, depending on altitude and the actual temperatures on Sunday, expect a variety of surfaces ranging from low-density snow, to thick crust, to crumbly crust and wet snow.

The core of the snowpack is well consolidated, and resting on the December 30 combo of facetted grains and crust. Facetted grains and depth hoar are developing at the base of the snowpack.
