The days are still getting shorter! Make sure you have a headlamp! Above 2200m there is some good skiing but getting there...well...its rugged. We need some more snow at lower elevations especially!

Weather Forecast

Very light snow is expected to continue overnight and into the weekend. Snow fall amounts will be minimal. Winds will be light to moderate out of the SW and temperatures during the day will be around -8C.

Avalanche Summary

One new Sz 2 triggerred by a cornice collapse was observed on the E face of Pocaterra Peak.

Snowpack Summary

Light snow has been tricking in with 3-8cm over the past 2 days. This new snow is overlying mainly facets and hard slabs that formed with winds earlier last week. Windslabs in the upper snowpack is our primary concern right now. If triggerred these slabs will likely step down to one of the basal crusts and involve most of the snowpack. Be especially cautious around thin wind affected terrain.
