Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs can be released in some cases in particular on very steep shady slopes.

The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular in the vicinity of peaks and on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. A clear night will be followed by favourable conditions, but the danger of wet avalanches will increase later. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2000 m.
