Forecast Snow Stability: New windslab will develop and be most widespread above 800 metres on North-West to North-East aspects; more localised on West and East to South-East aspects. Areas especially affected will be in steep wind sheltered locations such as coire rims, gully tops and crag aprons. The greatest instability is to be expected during the heaviest snowfall overnight; however unstable windslab will continue to develop during the day. Cornices will be fragile. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow fall throughout the forecast period, this will be heaviest during the night. Gale force Southerly winds will ease a little and veer to become West-South-Westerly during the day. The 900 metre freezing level will sharply rise to around 1000 metres overnight before falling to around 800 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with hazy sunshine. Moderate Southerly winds increased to fresh through the afternoon. The freezing level was around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is a covering of new snow on all aspects and altitudes. New accumulations of unstable windslab have developed on South-East to South-West aspects above 950 metres. The greatest instability is in steep locations such as convexities, coire rims and the tops of gullies. Fragile cornices also on these aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
