You may find isolated areas of instability today in wet, dry, or wind-affected snow. Even a small slide can have elevated consequences in steep trees or exposed terrain. Assess conditions as you travel and approach exposed terrain with caution. 

Today's weather will be similar to yesterday's. The biggest difference will be a small chance of up to 2 inches of new snow at higher elevations and increasing winds in the afternoon. We received limited reports of instability yesterday, only kicking off small Dry Loose sluffs in isolated areas. 

• Dry Loose avalanches could occur in isolated areas of sheltered northerly terrain where soft, loose snow rests over hard crusts. Even a small slide can take you for a ride, and this could have elevated consequences in steep and exposed or treed terrain.
• Small, isolated Loose Wet avalanches are not impossible on all aspects at lower elevations below and near treeline as a result of today's warm temperatures and cloudy skies. Monitor for changing conditions today. Fresh rollerballs and sticky, wet snow may foreshadow larger point release avalanches.
• Light snow showers and increasing winds are possible this afternoon. If new snow begins to accumulate, you can expect small, thin wind slabs to form on leeward aspects near and above treeline. Blowing snow and fresh drifts can clue you in to areas of concern. Monitor for changing conditions and move to sheltered, lower elevation terrain to avoid this potential hazard. 

If traveling in the backcountry today, take stock of snow surfaces and look for weak layers in the upper snowpack, as these may become layers of concern as new snow is added to the equation starting tomorrow.
