Fresh wind slabs at intermediate and high altitudes.
As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong wind, wind slabs formed in the last few days in particular above the tree line. Wind slabs can in some places be released by small loads, in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. They represent the main danger. Caution is to be exercised in pass areas in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain, in particular on steep slopes.
Snowpack Structure
20 to 40 cm of snow has fallen since Saturday above approximately 1800 m. As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong wind, wind slabs formed.
Tendency
Above approximately 1000 m snow will fall from the afternoon.
