In some regions 20 to 30 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 2000 m. The spring-like weather conditions will give rise to increasing softening of the snowpack. In particular in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation and on steep slopes medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large moist and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day. Avalanches can be released by small loads. As a consequence of snowfall and the strong wind, fresh snow drift accumulations formed during the last three days. The fresh wind slabs are in some cases prone to triggering. The fresh snow and the wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence above approximately 1900 m. Backcountry touring and snowshoe hiking call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and a certain restraint.

The old snowpack will be in most cases moist. The new snow of the last few days is bonding only slowly with the old snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 1900 m. As a consequence of warming during the day the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent.
