Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to accumulate on North through East to South aspects above 800 meters. These instabilities will be mainly present on steep wind sheltered terrain such as coire rims, gully tops and ridge flanks. Cornices will remain fragile on these aspects. Wind exposed aspects will continue to be scoured and generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: There will be Strong West-North-West winds overnight veering North-Westerly and decreasing in strength to moderate by the morning, then becoming strong South-South-West. Moderate snowfall is expected overnight, drier during the day. Overnight the freezing level will be at 400 meters, rising to around 700 meters by the end of the forecast period. Observed Weather Influences: There was new snow to all levels with improving cover above 300 meters. Winds were strong South-Westerly. The freezing level was around 300 meters. ObservedSnowStability: There is now a widespread surface crust above 500 meters. Moderately bonded windslab has accumulated on North through East to South-East aspects above 800 meters. Elsewhere the terrain is mostly scoured and stable with shallow accumulations of snow on wind sheltered slopes. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
