Wet snow
- Below 1,700 m
Moist avalanches and wet avalanches are the main danger.
Moist avalanches and wet avalanches are the main danger.
Small and medium-sized avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Individual mostly small wet snow slides and avalanches are possible below approximately 1700 m.
The snowpack will be wet all the way through below approximately 1700 m. The snowpack remains in most cases subject to considerable local variations. In particular, however, the sometimes deep wind slabs in places that are protected from the wind are capable of being triggered still. Medium-sized avalanches are possible in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain.
