Forecast Snow Stability: Wet snow instabilities will continue into Tuesday evening mostly above 900m on North through East to South-East facing aspects, here avalanches and cornice collapse likely. Old moist snowpack stabilising and becoming firm in the day but new accumulations of unstable windslab will build in wind sheltered locations on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Coire back walls and gully tops most affected. Elsewhere snowpack will be firm. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: During Tuesday evening the freezing level will be above summit levels at first, but gradually lowering overnight to around 600 metres where it will remain throughout the day. Heavy rain Tuesday evening to summit levels will turn to snowfall which will persist throughout the day above 600m. Winds will be very strong generally South-Westerly Observed Weather Influences: Bright and occasional light rain at first but heavier later and to above summit levels from around midday. Freezing level above summits. Winds strong South-Easterly. ObservedSnowStability: There is a general covering of new snow on all aspects above 600 metres, with deeper unstable windslab accumulations on mainly North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Fresh surface avalanche activity and cornice collapse debris was noted on these aspects. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
