Problems

Deep Persistent Slabs

Deep Persistent Slabs

The weak and facetted snowpack is about to be tested by warming temperatures, then some new snow, for the first time in over a month. Triggering of the basal weakness may become possible in areas where the snowpack above still retains some cohesion.

Evaluate terrain features by digging and testing on adjacent, safe slopes. Be cautious in shallow snowpack areas where triggering is more likely.

Aspects: South East, South, South West, West.

Elevations: All elevations.
