Wed: Flurries tapering off in the morning, followed by partially cloudy skies. Alpine temps -4 with low to moderate ridgetop winds

Thurs: Partially cloudy with alpine temps rising to -1. Winds S-X SW winds

Friday: Flurries with alpine temps +1 and S W winds.

Snowpack Summary

8cm new snow overlies wind pressed surfaces. A new crust from this weeks warm temps exists up to 2000m and higher on solar aspects. Well settled midpack, with facets above Dec 4 crust, buried 150-200 cm, above Nov layers.

Warm temps have caused settlement in the snowpack at lower elevations. Windslabs still exist in higher terrain, especially on polar slopes. 8cm new snow will form thin new slabs as winds increase.

  • Use caution on steep lee and cross-loaded slopes

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East, South, North West.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.
