Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is low at all elevations today. With record high temperatures possible today and above freezing temperatures in the mountains yesterday, loose snow sluffs and wet slides on a variety of aspects are possible this afternoon. On very steep Northerly aspects above 9500' shallow slabs could also be triggered, particularly this afternoon when warming will increase their sensitivity. Colorado and Montana, both currently having less stable snowpacks have had recent avalanche accidents(including a fatality) and can be reviewed by accessing the forecast centers through www.avalanche.org
