Highlights
At the upper elevations the avalanche hazard is MODERATE where surface slabs to greater than two feet in depth could be human triggered today on steep avalanche terrain. These slabs vary in hardness and were formed by strong Northwest winds yesterday affecting recently deposited snow. At the mid elevations isolated pockets of soft surface slabs to a foot in depth could be triggered. These slabs at the mid and upper elevations will become more sensitive this afternoon when they are weakened by sunlight and warming temperatures. Avalanches are unlikely at low elevations today.
