Highlights
Areas of unstable snow exist at the mid and upper elevations. New, light-density snow along with west-southwesterly winds have continued to build wind slabs along ridgecrests and cross-loaded slopes. These slabs, up to two feet deep, could be easily triggered by backcountry travelers on steep, wind-loaded starting zones. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations due to shallow snow depths.

A few scattered flurries could occur overnight before the next storm system moves into the region on Monday. By Monday night, 5 to 9 inches of light density snow could be seen in the Teton area, and 3 to 7 inches in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River areas. Overnight mountain lows should be around 10 degrees Fahrenheit before rising to near 20 on Monday. Southwesterly winds at 15 to 20 miles per hour are expected to increase to 20 to 30 by Monday morning.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE on Monday morning and will rise during the day as new snow accumulates and southwesterly winds create new soft slabs and add slab depth and volume to existing wind slabs. These slabs could be triggered by backcountry travelers on steep, wind-loaded slopes. Deeper hard slabs, which lie upon weak, faceted snow, persist primarily in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River areas, and could still be triggered on easterly and northerly aspects.
