At the mid and upper elevations, backcountry travelers could trigger pockets of surface slab up to two feet in very steep, wind-loaded avalanche terrain. In a few areas, larger loads, such as snowmachines, still have some potential to trigger hard slabs up to six feet in depth. These hazards will increase on steep, sun-affected aspects as the day warms, along with the chance of wet, loose sluffs. The snowpack is mostly stable at the lower elevations and avalanches are unlikely.

Inversion conditions are expected to continue and steepen on Wednesday. Skies are to be clear above morning valley fog and mountain temperatures are to reach the upper thirties. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate on Wednesday. Some chance remains in steep avalanche terrain for backcountry travelers to trigger pockets of surface slab to two feet in depth. In a few areas of very steep terrain, the slight possibility also lingers for large triggers to initiate hard slab avalanches on weak snow near the base of the snowpack. Clear skies and warm temperatures could increase these hazards on sunlit slopes in the afternoon.
