Highlights

The general avalanche hazard at the mid and upper elevations will increase to Moderate as the new snow accumulates and strong southwest winds form new slabs in avalanche starting zones. These slabs will form on a weak layer of surface hoar, near surface faceted snow and in some locations slick crusts. They will be easily triggered once significant accumulation has occurred. The general hazard at the lower elevations will be low but will also increase in steep shaded starting zones underlain by old faceted snow and crusts.
