Dangerous avalanche conditions develop on Wednesday. Upper-elevation slopes where storm snow is drifted into thicker slabs will be the most dangerous. Any slide you trigger in the storm snow can easily step down to buried weak layers and grow larger. Look for and avoid steep, drifted slopes that face northwest through east to south. Cracking in the storm snow and audible collapses are indications to avoid steep slopes. Look for slopes less than about 30 degrees that are not connected to steep slopes above as a safer option.
