Avalanche Summary

There's a chance you can trigger a small avalanche where westerly winds have formed thicker slabs in the alpine. Look for new, soft cornice growth or smooth, rounded textures below ridges and funneled start zones as an indication of this problem. These avalanches will likely be small, but could be consequential if they sweep you over a cliff or tumble you down a steep slope.

You will also need to manage small dry sluffs on steep northerly terrain or wet sluffs on steep sunny slopes. Gauge the snow surface before dropping into steeper pitches—reports of riders getting knocked off their feet by loose debris have been trickling in daily.
