Avalanche Summary

You may find areas above treeline where snow from Saturday is drifted over a foot deep. You can easily trigger a small avalanche in these deeper drifts. The most dangerous slopes are at upper elevations and face north through east to southeast. Strong winds on Sunday will drift snow into bulbous, lens-shaped pillows below ridgelines, convex rollovers, and inside gullies. Look for and avoid recently wind-loaded slopes. If you see recent avalanche activity or notice cracking within the new snow, you should seek wind-sheltered slopes as a safer option.
