There has been no significant avalanche activity for a few weeks now.
Snow and Weather
Current Conditions: Friday brought clear skies and high temperatures into the upper 40s. Wind from the south was in the moderate speed category. The snow is pretty smooth right now which makes for decent riding conditions as it softens during the day. Our backcountry observer Chris Magerl gave me his take on the ski conditions from Friday: "the timing wasn't optimal, but the turns were still very worthwhile. I was there from 10a to noon. Started sinking a bit after about 11:30a, Best would probably have been 9a to 11a. All on the standard Electric Lake main run, except for an exit down the north facing directly to the pull out. That last run was surprisingly punchy and heavy. Wind was continuous in the 10 mph+ range, which kept it from feeling too hot."
Overnight temperatures didn't get as cold as they have been over the last few days. Most stations were in the mid 30s. Yet, with clear skies, the snow surface should be frozen this morning.
Mountain Weather: Today will be mostly clear with high temperatures into the mid 40s and moderate speed wind from the south. Sunday looks pretty similar but maybe some clouds moving in late in the day. There's a storm that may bring some snow to the mountains on Monday.
