The avalanche danger is Low at all elevations today. New snow and wind will form isolated pockets of shallow wind slab in steep upper elevation terrain later in the day. These slabs will be low in volume and of greater concern in steep exposed terrain where a fall would be consequential. In all other terrain avalanches are unlikely. As always remember to use safe travel protocols. Expose only one person at a time, use islands of safety in steep terrain and carry and know how to use rescue gear.

Some lingering snow showers with minimal accumulation can be expected tonight and tomorrow. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy. Ridgetop temperatures will hit a low around zero overnight with daytime highs in the single digits tomorrow. Winds will calm down overnight with averages in the 15-20mph range tomorrow.Avalanches will be unlikely in the majority of terrain in all forecast areas tomorrow. The exception to this will be isolated pockets of shallow wind slab in steep terrain in the mid and upper elevations. These slabs will be low volume and more of a concern above terrain traps such as cliffs, gullies and trees. The avalanche danger will be Low in all areas. Despite the danger rating, it is important to be on the lookout for these isolated pockets of unstable snow and always follow safe travel protocols in order to minimize your risk.
