Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will very slowly become more moist but should remain generally well bonded and stable. However, some isolated wet snow instabilities may start to develop where older shallow windslab existed mainly on steep West to North aspects above 950 metres with gully exits and corrie rims most affected. These are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Mostly dry with the freezing level at around 1000 metres. Light, East-South-Easterly winds will back becoming North-Easterly and eventually North-Westerly by the end of the day, staying relatively light. Observed Weather Influences: The freezing level slowly rose during the night and was around 850 metres at mid-day but rising. It was dry and generally calm, light winds from an East-South-Easterly direction.

ObservedSnowStability: A shallow covering of crusty snow is present above 650 meters. The older snow pack is frozen and stable. Above 950 metres some isolated drifted snow accumulations exist on wind sheltered West to Northerly aspects, field tests showed weaknesses within the deeper accumulations but these are generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
