Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be generally stable. Localised instabilities will persist mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above 1000 metres. The snowpack will consolidate in the milder conditions. Cornices will be prone to collapse, especially those exposed to the effects of the sun. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be dry, with moderate generally Southerly winds. The freezing level will be above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: It was a bright dry day with light winds. Initially freezing at all levels, the freezing level rose to around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised unstable windslab is present mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above 1000 metres. Elsewhere the snowpack is generally stable. Cornices exposed to the direct effects of the sun are unstable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
