Forecast Snow Stability: Localised instabilities will persist above about 950 metres in the recently deposited windslab lying mainly on North to East aspects. Surface wet snow instabilities will develop on steep slopes exposed to the effects of the sun. Elsewhere the snowpack will generally be well bonded and stable. Remaining cornices will be unstable especially where exposed to sunshine. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be strong, Southerly overnight then backing to be South-Easterly during the day. It is expected to be dry throughout the period with the freezing level above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: After a little overnight snowfall at most levels it was a dry day. Winds were moderate to strong mainly South-South-Westerly. The freezing level rose above the summits during the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Moderately bonded windslab is present in wind-sheltered areas, mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. These are slowly consolidating in the milder conditions. Some surface instabilities developed on steep slopes exposed to the effects of the sun. Elsewhere the snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
