Forecast Snow Stability: New unstable accumulations will start to develop, mainly in wind sheltered features on South-East to South-West aspects above 950 metres. Greatest hazard will be found around corrie rims and gully tops mainly on the highest hills towards our Northern boundary. Areas exposed to the winds will be hard and icy. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers throughout the day to all levels with strong Northerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: A bright day with occasional snow showers to all levels. Winds were fresh to strong, North to North-North-Easterly during the day. ObservedSnowStability: The majority of the older snow has refrozen, becoming firm and icy. There is a cosmetic dusting of new snow above 900 metres. Much of this was melting where exposed to the strong sun. The avalanche hazard is Low.
