Forecast Snow Stability: The vast majority of the snow will be generally well bonded and stable. Localised accumulations of mostly avoidable windslab will persist in steeper wind sheltered locations on East and South-East aspects above 1000 metres but distribution will not be widespread. Greatest snow cover will be encountered above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: No precipitation. Fresh to strong generally Southerly winds. A negative air temperature will be maintained at 900 metres throughout the period. Observed Weather Influences: A dry, bright and sunny day with light to moderate South-Westerly winds. Freezing level around 900 metres in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab are present on mainly East through South to South-West aspects above 900 metres. Direct sunlight was enabling the consolidation process today on open slopes. Worst affected areas are steeper, wind and sun sheltered locations on East and South-East aspects above 1000 metres such as gully lines and behind ridge lines. Elsewhere the snow is generally well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
